This week I was joined by theologian Grace Ji-Sun Kim. Her newest book (she’s published so many!) is When God Became White. If you’re intrigued by the title already, you’re not alone. Grace writes, not only as a scholar and theologian, but also from her perspective as a Korean immigrant who grew up in Canada and now lives, teaches, and ministers in the United States. In this conversation, we explore how God has become racialized (and gendered), what this has done to our faith over the centuries, and how these concepts continue to affect how we live with one another as Christians and ministers of the gospel.
