I am so thrilled to host Jim Wallis again on the podcast! (It’s a special bonus for me because the date of this release marks 5 YEARS THE PODCAST!) Jim and I first met in Washington D.C. at the inaugural Summer Academy at the Center on Faith & Justice at Georgetown University, though his work and reputation were well known to me long before that. In our conversation for this episode, we discuss his most recent book, The False White Gospel concerning Christian nationalism, the Scriptures, and our democracy. Jim gives us new ways to look at familiar texts and offers us challenges for how we might participate in our systems in ways that are faithful and honoring to the heritage we want to uphold as Christians. Be sure to check out our first conversation, as well, on Jim’s book, America’s Original Sin.
