As someone who identifies as an outsider in many ways and in many seasons of her life, Alicia helps us see ourselves and each other as gifts to the larger body of Christ. We can learn so much by who we consider “in” and “out” and where and when those labels are used and lines are drawn in our communities. Whether it’s gender, race, disability, class, or any number of categories, we can learn a lot from each other and how we experience life in our faith contexts.
