My friend, Collin Cornell, is back! And, I have been *waiting* for this conversation (okay, in some ways, I’ve been waiting, and in some ways, it’s been ongoing). Collin has finished his newest book, God Draws Near, and it is a game-changer; I’m so thrilled he’s here to talk with me about it! This incredibly well-researched, academic text, explores missiology in a new way. With Collin’s background in biblical studies, specifically the Old Testament, much of the book and conversation center around the Song of Songs, the Tabernacle, and Israel. And while Collin does not discount the traditional biblical emphasis on the narrative of repair, he expands on it and proposes we look at the biblical texts in new ways that are less linear and more geometric and multi-dimensional, with a focus on communion.
