Merry Christmas from our home to yours! How can Mary’s example, help us work toward God’s kingdom when, as Mary, what we speak doesn’t line up with what we see? Luke 1, the commonly read Christmas morning text, contains Mary’s song, her Magnificat. The prophetess sang of the promise of God’s coming kingdom. That the powerful would be toppled and the hungry fed. It was a bold prophecy for the young, poor, woman living under Roman occupation and it continues to be a bold word for us today.
