It was a wonderful privilege to chat with Dr. Jennifer Holberg. If you listened to my conversation with (the Notorious) Karen Swallow Prior, you’ll remember that I get a little nervous talking with English professors, haha!, but, like KSP, Jennifer was a delight! Jennifer teaches at Calvin University where she is the chair of the English Department. Thankfully, there’s no shame with Jennifer when it comes to what we’ve read or haven’t read. She is more interested in how what we’ve read continues to shape us. We chatted about the power of narrative in our lives in general and how our faith is formed by story. We are each complex creatures with complex stories and sharing those stories can be encouraging as well as challenging. I can’t wait for you to hear it!
