Writer, author, and speaker Amy Julia Becker is on the podcast this week talking about healing. Her new book, To Be Made Well is a beautiful reflection on the nature of, barriers to, and how we can participate with God in healing, both our own and that of the people around us. Threading through her own personal stories, she leads us with examples of healing in the gospels. Specifically, we discuss and she writes about Jairus, the synagogue leader’s, daughter, and the woman with the issue of blood, as she was affectionately called in the pentecostal circles of my college years. Just like our ailments, healing doesn’t always look like what we might anticipate. Amy Julia encourages us to answer God’s invitations in both of those situations and everywhere in between.
