Kat Armas, author of Abuelita Faith: What Women on the Margins Teach Us about Wisdom, Persistence, and Strength, is on the podcast this week! Kat is a Fuller grad, on her way to Vanderbilt Divinity School, and is a wrestler in the faith. In her book, Kat introduces us to her grandmother and other women on the margins who, if we’re tuned to listen, have much to teach us about how to cultivate our belief in the God who has always been present with them on their journeys. Everyday women from the midwives serving the Israelite women in Egypt and Ruth the Moabitess, to Las Madres in Argentina and the arpilleristas in Chile, have riches of theological wisdom in their hearts, thoughts, and actions. In this book (and conversation) Kat compiles research, experience, education, and her own wisdom as a theologian to engage with us as fellow sojourners. I can’t wait for you to listen!
