Bethany Dearborn Hiser is a social worker who knows a little about feeling burned out. She, like many people in helping professions, was so consumed caring for others she neglected to care for herself. Her wake up call came in a session with a client and that began a transforming journey. Bethany captured much of what she learned and experienced in her book From Burned Out to Beloved: Soul Care for Wounded Healers. And before you think this beautiful work is only for social workers or pastors, consider who you care for everyday. Each of us can learn from the wisdom to embrace the love God has for us so we can, in turn, love others better.
