Talking with psychologist, Dr. Tiffany G. Townsend was truly a joy! One of the reasons I think I enjoyed it so much is because (by my own admission and maybe my husband’s observations, lol!) I can be a bit of a Debbie Downer sometimes. Meaning, when confronted with the realities of the world’s problems, it feels natural for me to look see the dark gray clouds instead of their silver linings. Tiffany recognizes both well and does not shy away from either. In her new book, Weathering the Storm, she recounts much of the history and also the current events pointing to the injustices in our country, and she offers hopeful insight geared toward seeking change. Some highlights in this episode for me include our discussion on educational injustice and how white rage is often triggered by Black advancement.
