Kristen Lee‘s voice is such a gift! She an incredibly gifted author (and physician! – which we totally didn’t even touch on in this conversation), and I am so thrilled she has chosen to bring her experiences and research to us through her text, We Mend with Gold. She has written the book she wishes she would have had when she was navigating church spaces growing up and in young adulthood and I’m so glad she did! Even though our stories don’t share many particularities, she is an Asian American daughter of immigrants and I am a Mixed-Hispanic woman whose family has been in the U.S. for generations, her experiences speak to mine in profound ways.

Some of the highlights in the episode include discussion on listening to unsanctioned theological voices, how to live in solidarity with others, especially when we have been systemically separated, and the blessing and challenges of immigrant church communities.
