Hosting a return guest is one of my favorite things to do (maybe especially when that guest is seated next to his piano…)! Mark Glanville is a pastor in what he names as a post-Christian context. And even though this conversation is based on his book about writing sermons, it is truly for anyone who has even heard a sermon (my bet is, that’s you!). In Preaching in a New Key, Mark writes about how each one of us has a relationship to preaching in one context or another, or possibly many. Understanding how we relate to sermons can be helpful to understand better how we navigate the culture and relationships around us. In this conversation, we also get a sneak peek into what’s happening in other Western, North Atlantic countries and why “post-Christian” might be a fitting description.
