Dr. Chris Blumhofer is a professor of New Testament at Fuller Theological Seminary. From personal experience, I can tell you his classes are wonderful! They are insightful, thought-provoking, and challenging. One of the mindsets, and now habits, I have taken away from my instructional time with Chris is permission to wrestle with our sacred texts and methods on seeking out ways to see the texts from differing perspectives. The basis of our conversation in this recording is an article he wrote for Fuller Studio on reading the bible critically, but still in faith. Even with some of the topics covered in this episode, Chris and I come at them from different places and land in some different places, too, but this is part of the beauty of reading and wrestling with the texts in community.
