It’s not very often that I ask my kids to preview a book I receive for the podcast, but it’s also not very often that I am preparing to interview the authors of a children’s book (including a teenage co-author)! Zion Learns to See by Zion Lester and her father Terence covers the difficult topic of homelessness. In the story, the main character is presented with opportunities to engage with people in her community who are unhoused and she shares her experiences with the audience as she meets new people and learns about their challenges as well as their gifts. And if the names sound familiar, that might be because you recognize Zion’s co-author and father, Terence, as (a previous podcast guest and) the founder of Atlanta’s Love Beyond Walls.
