“Thou shalt not do at all what others do poorly,” was a commandment Dr. Sam Storms lived by for 20 years in ministry. Sam was pastoring in my hometown of Ardmore, OK when his life was turned upside down by the person and power of the Holy Spirit. Sam and his friend Jack Deere had made it their business to be, in their words, obnoxious cessationists (believing the gifts of the Holy Spirit had come to a halt). All of that changed when Sam encountered the Holy Spirit in new ways for himself. He could no longer stand by the arguments he so emphatically defended for all those years. Listen as Sam tells the story of breaking his own commandment.
Sam is an author, speaker, and pastor of Bridgeway Church in Oklahoma City. Learn more about him and take advantage of the hundreds of free articles on his site, samstorms.org.
