Episode 376 – Lahronda Welch Little

Dr. Lahronda Welch Little has written a beautiful book called Lessons from the Garden in which she describes much of her journey in African spirituality and how the practices she was introduced to from her ancestors have formed and shaped her. She connects spirituality and health (even recording her grandmother’s pound cake recipe) and recounts how her grandparents’ gardening practices influenced her spiritual, as well as her physical, growth.

Highlights for me include moments where we discussed listening to our bodies; re-membering healing and embodiment; and that the essence of who we are is good.
