My kids tell me I’m a Hufflepuff. I don’t exactly deny it and encounters like the one Angela and I had might just add evidence to their label, lol! One minute we found ourselves sitting at dinner together, each invited by friends to a table where we didn’t know most of the diners, and the next minute we’re talking about work and possibilities for this interview! Hufflepuff or not, I’m grateful to know Angela, to have read her book, and to have shared conversations with her. She, like so many of us, has navigated seasons in her life when the decisions she knew needed to be made were anything but easy and as she did so, she started to ask herself how others were doing it. How did Christians before us navigate these tough situations, how do our neighbors and friends and coworkers figure out what to do? Braving Difficult Decisions birthed from that work in her own life and the stories of others. Far from a “how to” or self-help book with 10 easy steps on how to make that difficult decision, Angela introduces us to depths of wisdom from people across the world and the centuries to hopefully shine a little light for each of us as we journey toward our next steps.
